Martha Mariam Vanitha Samajam (MMVS)
Marth Mariam Vanitha Samajam is the women’s wing of the Malankara Orthodox Church of India, dedicated to fostering the spiritual growth of its female members under the guiding motto, “Pray, Act, and Shine.” Established in 1928 under the leadership of the late Rev. M.C. Kuriakose Ramban, K.M. Annamma, and others, the organization now operates across all 30 dioceses of the Church, with a unit in every parish. Named “Marth Mariam Samajam” in honor of the Blessed Virgin Mary, the chosen interceding saint, the organization is led by a central committee that coordinates various programs such as conferences, retreats, and seminars at both diocesan and parish levels to nurture the spiritual development of its members.
The main objective of the Marth Mariam Samajam is to nurture the spiritual growth of the women in our church. Monthly prayer meetings, Bible and liturgical studies, and prayers for the sick are just some of the initiatives that guide members toward spiritual fulfillment in their daily lives. The Samajam encourages active participation from all women in these activities. In addition, the Samajam organises a range of charitable initiatives, fundraising events, conferences, retreats, and social gatherings to promote fellowship among women and their families. MMVS is also dedicated to enhancing spiritual practices, observing lent, and nurturing children with a strong commitment to Christ and religious values.
Fast and Prayer Meetings are held every last Friday of the month at 10:00 am at the church.
Mrs. Elizabeth Biju is currently serving as the secretary for the term 2024-25.
